OtsAV (all editions) version 1.85 End-of-Life on November 14th 29th, 2025

An important message to all OtsAV users.

(Update: We have extended the November 14th date to November 29th as Ots Labs is aware that not all regions were able to view this notice or links from all relevant site pages.)

It's been more than 13 years since OtsAV 1.85 was most recently sold (2012), however, our software has proven so stable and reliable that there exists still many customers running this series of earlier versions (the current series of OtsAV is 1.94).

Along with the deprecation of Windows 10 by Microsoft this month, Ots Labs is finally officially deprecating all 1.85 or earlier versions of OtsAV software.

What does this mean to me?

If you hold licenses for or are still running any OtsAV 1.85 editions (whether DJ, Radio or TV), this concerns you.

After November 14th 29th, 2025, all OtsAV 1.85 licenses will cease to be a valid base product for upgrades and hence new full licenses will need to be purchased instead of upgrades.

Additionally, due to the age of these versions, and due to Microsoft having phased out support and security patches for all of the earlier compatible Windows versions that these OtsAV editions were designed and tested for, we will be unable to provide any further official support for these legacy products.

What is Ots Labs doing to ease this transition?

We are providing one final opportunity (until November 14th 29th, 2025) for 1.85 license holders to upgrade their licenses. After consultation with customers, we are doing this via a system of upgrade tokens so that users may continue to operate older versions for longer if they so wish (eg. until such time that they upgrade to new hardware or a newer OS) while still having the upgrade path available when it suits them - even if this is months (or even years) after November 14th 29th, 2025.

This provides the most flexibility for our customers still using legacy OtsAV versions while allowing them to maintain their investment in the software and benefit from all prior purchases.

Will my older OtsAV software cease to work after November 14th 29th, 2025?

Any software validly installed will continue to operate, however, you will no longer be able to upgrade (except by purchasing a full new license), obtain support for, and may also find limitations in any re-installation of the software.

We strongly recommend you purchase OtsAV legacy upgrade tokens at this final opportunity for any OtsAV 1.85 licenses you still hold. The tokens are inexpensive (eg. just US$99 for the OtsAV DJ editions) and allow you to upgrade to the current 1.94 version at a time of your choosing and convenience.

To make this easier, we have made these tokens available separated by product line only, ie. DJ, Radio and TV. You do not need to distinguish any further than that, eg. an OtsAV DJ Legacy Upgrade Token will work for either OtsAV DJ Silver or OtsAV DJ Pro (when you ultimately use the token, you will end up with the latest 1.94 version of the same product you upgraded from).

Although these tokens are mainly intended for legacy 1.85 versions, they will also work for OtsAV 1.90 versions, making this a very cost-effective way to upgrade even from version 1.90 during this limited opportunity window.

OtsAV Legacy Upgrade Tokens

As explained above, the following tokens may be purchased for a limited time only as a final opportunity to upgrade legacy OtsAV 1.85 (and 1.90) products.

The tokens are delivered immediately, but do not need to be used until you are ready to actually upgrade. Additionally, after consultation with customers, the information requested at time of purchase is minimal. You do not need to provide specific PDIs of the products you are intending to upgrade from (or even the specific edition, eg. "DJ Silver" vs "DJ Pro") until such time as you are actually ready to proceed with an upgrade - even if that is months (or years) down the track.

Each token may be used to upgrade a single instance of a 1.85 license. If you have several individual licenses, or any of the older multi-quantity style licenses that may be for more than a single instance, you will require a token for each license/instance that you wish to (eventually) upgrade. After November 14th 29th, 2025, it will no longer be possible to purchase upgrades for 1.85 licenses.

Take note that you do not require a token for any license that already has version 1.94 or later entitlements. These tokens are for licenses that do not include such entitlements and have not since been upgraded. As stated, OtsAV 1.85 licenses will reach end-of-life on November 14th 29th, 2025, and the tokens below represent a last chance to maintain an upgrade path for such licenses—and without any inconvenience or forced upgrade until such time as you are ready. And if you do wish to upgrade immediately, these tokens are the most cost-effective way to do it, even for 1.90 license-holders. This is a one-time offer and will end when 1.85 reaches end-of-life.

Tip: You can see a summary of your licenses by logging into your OtsZone profile and going to My Licenses. Pay attention also to the Qty and Status fields.

Note: If you hold more than one OtsZone profile and/or are helping someone else maintain their OtsAV software, you can purchase these tokens without concern for which profile actually contains the legacy licenses. All purchased tokens remain unbound to any specific profile or license until such time as they are used.
